The theme of this year's Summit is "Yes, I Can!" One male and one female Educating Children of Color Summit participant will each win a $500 scholarship for the best representation of the theme. Write an essay, film a rap, create a statue, design a PowerPoint - use your imagination! Bring your project to the Summit; judging will take place during the event. |

For students entering college for the first time in the fall 2012, the GMS 2012 Scholarship Application online process is now open. The deadline for all submissions is Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. EST. |
Bill Gates' Millennium Scholarship Program (GMS) will select 1,000 talented students next year to receive a good-through-graduation scholarship to use at any college or university of their choice. Scholars will also be provided with personal and professional development through their leadership programs, along with academic support throughout their college career. The program was established to provide outstanding low income minority students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any area of interest. To date, the program has given scholarships to more than 15,000 students. Continuing scholars may request funding for a graduate degree program in one of the following disciplines: education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science. |
