Scholarship FAQ's
Can I enter one essay, presentation, or piece of art for all the scholarships?
NO—All of the scholarships have different requirements, so please read the criteria carefully.
How do I know what the Judges are looking for in entries?
Please see the prompt and guidelines available on each individual scholarship. For detailed judge criteria rubrics, download this form.
Should I have someone proofread my entry or critique my art or performance ahead of time?
YES—while not necessary, that is always a good idea. Also, double check the prompt and submission guidelines.
Can I just mail in my application?
No—You must follow the instructions for uploading your application electronically using the submission link for the scholarship(s).
If my submission is a piece of art or a performance that I cannot upload, what should I do?
If your submission is a piece of art, then you MUST photograph your art and upload the photo. If your submission is a performance or video essay, you can upload a document containing a link to a YouTube or Vimeo video. Keep in mind that longer videos will lose quality if you upload the file directly on your submission. You may also upload a script, in addition to the video, if you believe it would be helpful for the reviewers.
Do I have to attend the Summit to be eligible to win a scholarship?
YES – There are no exceptions! Please make arrangements with employers ahead of time so you have the day off. You will have to be present to claim your scholarship if your application is selected.
If I apply for a scholarship, am I automatically registered for the Summit?
NO – you must register for the Summit, IN ADDITION TO submitting your scholarship applications.
When is the latest that I can submit scholarship entry?
The scholarship submission deadline is Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 11:59 PM.
Should I put my name on my essay?
It is NOT necessary to put your name or any other identifying information on your actual submission. However, please include your last name on the file name. For example: SMITH_ThemeScholarship.
